I love going to carparks early on a Sunday morning when they are mostly empty. I like driving real slow through all the levels. One thing I love is that it is like a drive-thru gallery (or sorts). Each portal to the outside is like an artwork hanging on a gallery wall.
“The kind of control you’re attempting, it’s not possible…
one thing the history of evolution has taught us is that life will not be contained;
life breaks free. It expands to new territories, crashes through barriers,
painfully, maybe even dangerously….
I’m simply saying, life finds a way.”
~ Jurassic Park (movie)
I’ve added a new page to this site called Abstract Photography. This photo is one of many featured on that page. You may click on “Abstract Photography” above or use this link https://onbeingbecoming.com/abstract-photographs/
This image is one single image taken on the same level. I was enthralled with the various light fixtures mixing Tungsten and Fluorescent and the colors. Obviously sitting in my car and shooting out the drivers side window. This was on the lowest level of the underground parking deck. Level 5 or maybe Dante’s 5th level of hell.
Sometimes I like deliberately using the the wrong white balance setting for the color that it gives.
A natural/found diptych.
Continuing with the posts of the past couple of days todays image has a different source. The base image (bottom) was from the outside of the elevator shaft on the top level of a car park that is used for the Akron Public Library. I also used the steam engine shot from yesterday to add some curves and texture on the final manipulation. Many Many layers were used in this process. I like the Monochrome against the orange and blue of the Library sign. I can imagine printing this on a large aluminum metal sheet.
