Sometimes “bad” photos can be interesting. In 2008 I was still trying to figure my way around a camera (in some respects that hasn’t changed) but these photos posted here I still really like.

I’ve started going back through my old photo files looking for stuff I never posted before. I found this little gem from 2014.

I once saw a fish
washed upon the shore.
I stared down as it lay
on its sandy grave
taking its last breath
then stepped away
as the seagulls came
tearing away at the carcass.
And I thought.
This is the best we can hope for –
not to be remembered –
but to provide for whatever comes after us.
Knowing, like the fish,
when to live
and when to die.
The older I get
the less optimistic I feel.
Fantasy is for escape,
reality is for living;
however unpleasant it may be.

The way immigration should look = empty cages.

Welcome to Ice Cream Sunday! 🙂

Of course whenever I see the words “ice cream” I can’t help but smile and think of the song written by Tom Waits and re-interpreted by Jalacy “Screamin’ Jay” Hawkins.

Continuing with the posts of the past couple of days todays image has a different source. The base image (bottom) was from the outside of the elevator shaft on the top level of a car park that is used for the Akron Public Library. I also used the steam engine shot from yesterday to add some curves and texture on the final manipulation. Many Many layers were used in this process. I like the Monochrome against the orange and blue of the Library sign. I can imagine printing this on a large aluminum metal sheet.

Sure we need to be careful but use common sense. Hygiene is important. If you follow basic common sense you’ll be fine. Enjoy your life. After all this life could be your last.

What are we losing? What are we giving up?
“Keep a distance of 6 feet between you and others”
“don’t touch each other”
“wear a mask”
In short, don’t kiss, shake hands or fuck.

With the Coronavirus there is a full-blown panic here in the US as a complete failure of leadership continues to be the real plague on our country. This panic has resulted in empty store shelves, events cancelled on a large scale, nothing is permitted where a group of 50 or more may gather. “Wartime” curfew 9pm. Is this how we finally lose our freedom? Is this how government will control us? What happened to “freedom of assembly”? Will it ever be restored? Will we finally rise up? Or, will we remain comfortably numb?
My cell has windows and a doors but I AM NOT FREE!
